Microsoft are set to release Internet Explorer 8 in time for Q3.
The software giant claim that “Internet Explorer 8 will take the web experience beyond the page. Internet Explorer 8 introduces a new way to seamlessly experience the best of the web whether you are a web developer writing to standards or a user discovering a new online service”.
Microsoft claim that IE8 will interpret web content in a way that will be fully compliant with web standards. The new version also has the option to revert back to IE7 standards for less compliant browsers.
"This facility would be helpful as the web moves gradually from the large quantity of legacy content authored around IE7's behaviors to a new era of much more interoperable and web standards compliant browsers," Dean Hachamovitch, Internet Explorers general manager explains.
At Plasmanet, we have already downloaded IE8 and are carrying out testing with both current and future products to ensure compatibility.
For those of you that would like to test and trial Microsoft’s latest release, Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 (Developer Preview) is available for download here.
